Director

Rob brings over 35 years of experience to the Cyril Orchard Group, which he has led as Director since 1989. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor, he combines technical expertise with strategic leadership across sectors including rail, education, residential, and commercial development. Known for his client-focused approach, Rob plays a central role in mentoring the next generation of surveyors, overseeing structured APC training, and driving business growth.

Philip Reddecliffe

Senior Building Surveyor

With a career spanning over four decades, Philip is an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong architectural background. Since joining the Cyril Orchard Group in 2001, he has specialised in public sector projects, including schools, emergency services, and MOD estates. He also has been regularly involved in external refurbishment of many private residential buildings (flats) including substantial renovations of facades to a high standard. This includes identification/rectification of poor detailing and the use of modern materials to improve the weathering of the building and ensure future maintenance is kept to a minimum. Philip brings practical expertise in planning, design, contract administration, and CDM coordination to every project.

Ray Sergeant

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Ray is an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has worked internationally across Africa, New Zealand, and the UK. Since joining the Cyril Orchard Group in 2013, he has contributed to a range of restoration, heritage, education, and cultural projects. His extensive background includes leading major infrastructure and commercial developments, enabling him to deliver complex schemes with precision and care.

Ed Hatfield

Building Surveyor

Ed joined the Cyril Orchard Group in 2024 and is a Chartered Member of the RICS. He obtained a master’s degree in building surveying in 2016 and has since gained experience across both the public and private sectors. He has delivered projects in healthcare, education, residential, and heritage settings. Ed’s roles include contract administration, technical design, dilapidation matters, and defect diagnosis. He is known for his methodical approach and commitment to high standards.

Charlotte Orchard

Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Charlotte joined the Cyril Orchard Group in 2024, bringing a strong set of transferable skills from a successful career in education. She holds a Master’s degree in Education and recently completed the RICS Foundation in Quantity Surveying course. Now undertaking an MSc in Quantity Surveying and APC Structured Training, Charlotte is focused on building her technical expertise. She has a keen interest in sustainable construction and leveraging digital tools to support efficient, forward-thinking project delivery.

Michelle Tough

Office Administrator

Michelle has been a key member of the Cyril Orchard Group since 2008, having previously worked with the company as well. She brings a wealth of technical knowledge and organisational skill to her role, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily operations. As the first point of contact on the phones, Michelle combines professionalism with a warm, approachable manner—always ready to help clients and colleagues alike. Loyal, reliable, and widely appreciated by the team, she plays a crucial role behind the scenes in keeping the business operating.

Sarah Squire

Accounts Manager

Sarah leads the accounts function at the Cyril Orchard Group with precision, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the industry. Having previously worked for Cyril Orchard Group for fifteen years, she returned to the team in 2020, she brings valuable experience from similar businesses within the sector. Known for her loyalty, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail, Sarah is a trusted and essential part of the finance operation, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
