Fairford Place is an ambitious almshouse project that combines sensitive refurbishment with new‑build elements. Appointed as Quantity Surveyor, Employer’s Agent, and Building Surveyors, we are supporting Shrewsbury Drapers Holy Cross Limited in delivering high‑quality, affordable accommodation for their residents.
Our Role
Our services include detailed condition surveys, cost planning, grant funding support, procurement, and full contract administration. A phased decanting strategy has been developed to minimise disruption, relocating residents into the new block while existing bedsits are refurbished.
- Demolition of an existing bungalow and construction of a 3 storey block of eight one‑bedroom flats, including a lift.
- Refurbishment of 12 existing bedsits to create modern one‑bedroom flats with updated kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.
- Upgrades across all units: insulation, heating systems, lighting, windows, and internal doors.
- Assistance with Homes England grant applications and overall funding strategy.
- Completion of the new block targeted for Spring 2025 and full project completion by the end of 2025.
