Construction of a Stand Alone 2 Storey Building to Provide 4 Classrooms, Computer Rooms, Changing Rooms and Toilets
Building Surveying Services and Contract Administration
St Marys School required an existing 4 classroom modular building to be replaced by a permanent stand alone building to improve the reading facilities.
The Archdiocese of Southwark commissioned Cyril Orchard Group to design the extension to match the adjacent single storey classroom building, obtain planning and building regulation consent, act as quantity surveyors overseeing all aspects of the contract finances and supervise the construction to completion.
The practice liaised with structural engineers, mechanical and electrical consultants to ensure all installations met legislation and the schools criteria. In order to keep classrooms available for use, 4 temporary mobile classrooms were provided on part of the playground including all temporary electrical mains supply.
