The Tannery

The Tannery is a major redevelopment project on a centrally located site in Shrewsbury, formerly occupied by 1960s-era flats and retail units. Appointed as Employer’s Agent, we were responsible for managing the delivery of this complex urban regeneration scheme under a design and build contract. The scheme included two distinct blocks: one delivering student accommodation, and the other, originally intended for commercial use, was reconfigured during the process to accommodate a new medical centre, following client-led changes.

Our Role

We provided full Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying services throughout the four-year programme, overseeing the contractor’s performance, progress, and compliance. Our team supported significant design development and facilitated client-led changes, including the reconfiguration of the second block. We ensured contractual obligations were met, key milestones were achieved, and the evolving requirements of Shropshire County Council were successfully integrated into project delivery.
